                            Our Mission

Camp Epworth provides an opportunity for children and youth to experience the outdoors and discuss and examine their spiritual faith in a safe and fun environment.

Our Christian "by example" program; combined with a progressive view of the modern church; we hope, will give campers and staff an expanded way of viewing their faith.

Our staff comes from a wide variety of spiritual backgrounds, predominantly, but not limited to Christianity. Our Christian program focuses on God's Universal Love for everyone as they are; The importance of being good stewards of the Earth; and the value of Community.

Why Should I Work at Camp Epworth?

That’s a great question when looking at any job, but specifically to Camp Epworth, now is the time to take a  summer job that will make a difference. We are considering applicants who are 17 years of age or older who are excited about working with children, able to spend long days with kids, and like to have fun and relate to campers in their care. We hire staff from across the country and around the world* who are looking to promote nature, the greatness of life, good values and spirituality at Epworth. A strong desire to work with youth and children is a must, as that is your job here.

College students today are the last generation raised in an interactive rather than virtual world. Do you ever feel like you aren't really living? Do you feel removed from the natural world? Now is the time to stop, spend some time getting in touch with yourself and bringing the wonderful experience of truly living to the generation that follows us. Chat rooms and video games constitute 'fun' in the typical 14-year old's life. What has happened to making friends in person and to outdoor activities? Come help a kid explore the natural world and enjoy the summer.
                            * All international staff will only be considered through an agency program. All staff must have a Social-Security Number.

                            How Camping at Epworth Works

In this start up year, we will only have a day camp.

Our day campers come Monday thru Friday from 9am to 4pm. Many campers come for the entire season, others just for a week or two. Campers are arranged in groups according to their age, starting at 3.5 years old and going up to 13 years of age.

                            Other Commonly Asked Questions

What do I get for my hard work?
We are one of the highest paying camps, according to the American Camping Association, and we do this to attract quality staff. We make sure you're comfortable and can go back to school with some money in the bank. While you are working here, we provide you with shared on site housing and most meals so you have limited expenses. This allows you to bank a good portions of your wages.

You can expect to earn between $1,700 and $2,500 for the eight weeks of service (1 week of training and 6-7 weeks of camp). Epworth also offers assistance for staff members traveling over 400 miles to get to camp. But more than all that, you will have an amazing and unforgettable summer of fun where you will meet people and make friends from all over the US and the World.

                            Who attends Camp Epworth?
Most of the children attending camp at Epworth come from the surrounding area. We support diversity in our campers. The children are between 3 and 13 years old.

We also have a lot of Adult retreat groups that take advantage of Epworth's unique location and space.
